Retailer: Tillington Group
When: Wednesday 24th June 2026
Where: Squires Garden Centre, Badshot Lea
As the GIMA Buyer Connect programme continues apace, the next event will turn its focus to The Tillington Group, giving suppliers direct access to one of the most commercially significant independent garden centre networks in the UK.
Scheduled for Wednesday 24th June 2026 at Squires Garden Centre, Badshot Lea, the session forms part of GIMA’s ongoing commitment to creating practical, face-to-face opportunities between suppliers and key retail decision-makers.
The announcement builds on the momentum generated at the recent GIMA Conference, where insights from Mark Farnsworth underlined both the scale of the Tillington operation and the opportunity it presents for the right supplier partnerships.
Scale, strength and shared ambition
Since its formation in 1993, The Tillington Group has evolved into a collective of leading independent garden centre businesses, working together to strengthen their buying power and marketing impact.
The group now spans nine companies and 45 centres across the UK, delivering a combined turnover in excess of £300 million. Many of its sites rank among the strongest single-location performers in the country, with a track record of recognition through national GCA awards.
Looking ahead to 2027 – with immediate routes to market
At the heart of the June Buyer Connect event will be conversations around 2027 ranging, with Tillington’s four-strong buying team actively reviewing new product opportunities across both core stocked lines and dropship solutions.
For suppliers, the appeal lies in both the long view and the short-term potential. While discussions will centre on future ranges, there is also scope for quicker routes to market through dropship in the current trading window.
The format is designed to move beyond introductions, encouraging commercially grounded conversations around product fit, pricing, supply and scalability.
How to get involved
Both GIMA members and non-members are invited to apply. Successful companies will be allocated a 25-minute one-to-one session with the Tillington buying team, with additional meetings available where product ranges span multiple categories.
Each company may send up to two representatives.

Retailer: BOL
When: Tuesday 19th May 2026
Where: Virtual Event
Following the recent integration of Gardenex into the GIMA portfolio, the association has unveiled its first international Buyer Connect opportunity, confirming BOL as the headline partner for a new virtual event this May.
Taking place on Tuesday 19th May 2026, the session will connect selected suppliers directly with BOL’s buying team through a series of structured one-to-one meetings, designed to identify innovation, assess market fit and unlock new routes to market across mainland Europe.
The move signals a natural progression for Buyer Connect, building on the programme’s strong domestic success while extending its reach into international territories. Recent UK-based events have already demonstrated the value of direct engagement between suppliers and buyers, creating meaningful commercial conversations and new ranging opportunities.
A gateway to two of Europe’s most advanced markets
As the leading online marketplace in the Netherlands and Belgium, BOL offers a powerful route to international growth. In 2024, the platform generated €6.3 billion in revenue, connecting more than 14 million customers with 49,000 sales partners across categories including home, garden, outdoor living, toys and electronics.
Beyond marketplace access, BOL provides a fully integrated ecosystem, combining a streamlined seller platform with marketing tools such as sponsored listings and branded storefronts, alongside logistics support including warehousing and next-day delivery.
The Buyer Connect sessions will also help suppliers understand what success on the platform requires. Partners must be able to manage EU-based stock and returns, demonstrate a strong track record across European marketplaces and maintain high customer satisfaction levels. Competitive delivery and the ability to provide customer service in English (phone) and Dutch (email) are also essential.
UK businesses can now trade on the platform via a UK entity, provided stock is held within the EU, while EU-based entities continue to be supported, offering flexibility for brands at different stages of expansion.
A new chapter for Buyer Connect
The introduction of an international event reflects GIMA’s ambition to evolve Buyer Connect in line with supplier demand, creating new pathways for growth at a time when diversification is increasingly important.
How to get involved
The event is open to both GIMA members and non-members, with each successful applicant receiving a dedicated 25-minute meeting with the BOL team. Attendance is limited to two representatives per company.
